I know many people are blogging about this topic right now- but I seem to be in a different situation than most.

Plurk just announced a few days ago that Second Life is now considered a “country”, and then I found out World Of Warcraft is now one too! For those of you who aren’t on plurk, your location you pick your city, state, country- so now instead of the USA I can pick Second Life or World of Warcraft.

Why did they do this? Because there are *so* many avatars on Plurk. No seriously- there are hundreds of Second Lifers on there! This now makes it easier to find other second lifers as well! Time for celebration!

But here is where I have the issue. Yes, my account name is my second life name- but I only really did that because I’ve been in Second Life for well over 2 years- when I signed up for plurk I was actually on an SL break! Alexandra has basically become my online identity for everything because of the privacy behind it. But then again I also play World of Warcraft… and most of my plurks are about real life!!

Oh noes! Identity Crisis!

How is one to choose? I play both games pretty much equally nowadays, but technically my plurk account is of my SL toon, but again most of it is real life plurks…

*SCREAMS*

It’s like one of those doors that goes around in constant circles. I could sit here and knock down and support  all 3 options all day.

And I mean, what’s the big deal with putting your RL location in plurk? You already are using a fake name- are you afraid someone is going to come to your town and ask every person if they play SL and then if their name is [insert your SL name here]? Probably not, but I also understand that people want to be known as their avatar only.

And what about the WoWers? Would you put your server name as the city and then World of Warcraft as your country? What if you play on multiple realms? Do you have a pic of your character?

Not only do I have an identity crisis going on, but yesterday, there was also a debate on whether World of Warcraft and Second Life were going to be allies or enemies. Vint blogged about it here. ACK! Most of my friends on plurk are SLers, so I wouldn’t want to betray them- but at the same time my WoW time is so usually my stress free time. Do I fight with my friends to maintain peace? Or do I go against them to help defend WoW against SL?

I have to say though, if I was forced to choose I’d side with WoW. We have a much bigger population, and I refuse to let the drama whores clog up my drama-free game. Sorry guys! Yes, SL is the shit and what got me into “gaming” in the first place- but I keep falling back on WoW when I get bored or the drama gets to be too much- and then when I get bored of WoW I go to SL- find more drama- go back to WoW. Viscous circle ain’t it? The no-drama sort of appeals to me more, especially since all of my best friends in SL have my outside contact info.

So what am I going to do about my damn location? I’m keeping it as my RL one for now. I pretty much will tell anyone who asks, most of my friends on plurk have probably already visited my page to find out, and RL is supposed to come first right? I mean I plurk about it enough sheeesh.

Congrats to all of you who fought the war in getting Second Life added as a country. Imma stick with my RL one. Good luck trying to find me! [Oh wait- I has the little widget on this blog. Damn. Well- good luck to those who do not read my blog and want to be friends with other SLers!]

Real Life

I have been doing [a little] RL. I know- that thing that is beyond your puter. It’s a pretty weird place but was trying to get used to it. Matt and I are still together and I actually took ANOTHER trip out to Wisconsin to see him in August. Actually- I DROVE to see him. 1100 miles away too. Pretty impressive huh? I didn’t think I could do it but I did! Stayed overnight in Ohio too with a friend. (OH p.s. for those of you who don’t know I’m a total masshole.) I stayed for about a week and a half and it was total heaven. Met his two chicklets (who are 5 and 3) and they are wonderful as well

School has also started back up! I am a junior in college now :O how did the time go so fast??? Anyways- classes are awesome, but as most people know my roommates are assholes. There could be an entire post on why I hate them but it comes down to one simple thing: They are LOUD. Loud as hell to be exact. Like, keep me up at night loud which is insane. Enough about them though I has more to write.

Jobs- there aren’t any. I need a new puter and to start paying for stuff on my own BADLY- but no jobs. It sucks. Thank fking god Obama won. Nuff said.

Pain (physical- not emo) sucks. Hands getting worse. Still want doctors to give me pain pills and nada so far. Basically same as always.

Things with home are okay (mostly because I’m at school) but mom is realizing there are no jobs and it isn’t my fault. FINALLY god dammit.

Mmmkay. I think that’s all for real life that I can think of… NEXT!

World of Warcraft

Or should I say warcrack? You guess. Yes, that is where I have been hiding away from SL. Expansion comes out next week (WOO!) and I have managed to level TWO 70s in the few months I’ve been playing. I rock I know. Matt also has two 70s now too We are pretty much badass.

For you WoW geeks- I have a 70 blood elf beast mastery hunter and a 70 tauren resto druid. (for those of you who aren’t geeks you’re prolly sittin there like wut o.o?- dun worry I will try and not blab too much).

As you can see I have a few other toons made, some not even played. My 3rd and 4th fav are my shadow priest and protection warrior. They both rock pretty hardcore.

So why’d I go to WoW? Stressed out, away from drama, boyfriend plays it. Killing shit is a really freaking nice stress reliever. Try it sometime! Though, don’t try it on real people please, and if you do do NOT blame me for telling you xD

ANYWAYS kinda getting bored of it hence my return to SL.  Never thought you’d see the day huh? I think I just overkilled it a tad and miss some of my friends, and I think all the drama that made me leave has blown over- hence the return.

SL

So, return to SL… is this fer real? Yes it is. It seems on all my rezz day anniversaries I need a break from SL. Last years wasn’t nearly as long, but there was more drama this year and boyfriend has lasted longer. Be happy I’m back (or not if you hate me- meh dun care anymore)

Any catches to me coming back? Of course. Don’t expect me to get TOO involved in drama etc (we all know that won’t happen but I can hope). I’m going to try not to get uberously involved in crap (huge projects etc) Oh, and, not dating men either (emphasis on men). Have one in RL don’t need another in SL.

Annie (my mini me) will also be on lots too. If you must know her full name IM me. If not you can figure it out.

I will be trying to blog again (and don’t worry there is a rant already in my head about SL at the moment- so stay tuned for that) and you’ll see me in world. At nights I’ll mostly be in WoW when Matt is on, SL is basically going to rotate around his schedule. He is my #1 ya know

I AM still doing photoshop even though I don’t have the store anymore- Just IM me in world or drop me a notecard and we can set stuffage up

I do also still build so if you need anything made or want a quick how to don’t be afraid to ask

Helloooooo my pretties!

I know I’m the slackiest of slackers when it comes to updates these days but my time in SL has been limited!

Drama has cooled since my HKE posts… funny how I didn’t get any IMs after the correction one *shrugs*

I’ve been on Alex not so much for a few different reasons… one being that one of my best friends has left SL, I don’t know what to do in SL anymore, I still come in to dance for Vie but other than that I am bored city…

OH OH OH AND! I got WoW back :O I am once again a World of Warcraft geek. A good friend of mine (well my boyfriend now) paid for me to re-activate my account for 3 months! I’ve been playing with him and am one level away from catching up to my old character. Mom h as also been playing so it has been teh awesomez! Warcraft is nowhere near the same thing as SL, but lately it has been good for me because it has been my stress reliever. Nothing like going on a game and just killing EVERYTHING you see to de-stress and with everything I’ve been dealing with with SL it has been great! Blood elf hunters FTW!

Last week I actually WORKED! I got a nanny job for my dentist :O they have 4 kids… 4, 6, 8, and 10, all boys except the 8 year old. I worked from the Monday till Thursday.. over 30 hours and made just over $300! Kids were great and well behaved and their mom is stay at home so I just basically had to run errands and keep them out of her hair while she got ready to go on vacation with them. Hopefully I’ll get to babysit more for them!

Speaking of new boyfriend… I am actually on a mini vacation right now! I flew to Wisconsin to come meet him and it has been fab I got here Tuesday late afternoon and flying back home Monday. Later today I’m going to go meet my SL momma <3 She only lives about a half hour from Matt. I haven’t been this happy in awhile.. going to be the worst going back home, but not going to think about that till Sunday

Anyways… need to find some way to entertain myself.. I’m sitting in a Panera Bread at the moment in Madison… Matt works right across the street. Normally I’d stay home but we have to pick up a rental car for me around 12 (which is in 2 hours and 15 minutes) then I can go home and get ready to meet momma! Wondering if this connection is fast enough to play SL or WoW…. we’ll find out!
